Stunning piece by Design Institute of America. Highly functional two tier coffee or cocktail table designed by Richary Berry in the 70's. Features newly re-plated brass double ring frames that hold round reverse black painted glass tops floating on a black suede covered drum base. This dynamically kinetic piece transforms with the touch of your hand, the top that revolves open with an satisfyingly smooth rotation mechanism. Great for serving hors dāoeuvres and beverages or displaying dĆ©cor objects making this table exceptionally unique and enjoyable, will blend with any dĆ©cor style. A gem of a find.
In a closed position this piece is a minimal circular coffee table. The top rings swivel or rotate out to form multiple configurations, it can measure differently. Dimensions: 36ā diameter x 14ā high - extends to 55ā wide.
Designed in 1979 by Richard D. Berry Jr. for Design Institute America. US Design Patent #274,578 issued 1984. Founded in 1971, DIA became known for its quality modern and transitional furnishings.
