Eight Charles Gibilterra designed Mid-Century Modern Tubular Dining Chairs
DESCRIPTION
This striking set of eight Tubular dining chairs designed by Charles Gibilterra for Vecta Contract Inc. The sleek lines of the chairs combine perfectly with the curves of the cantilever to create a classic vintage silhouette. It is comprised of a single piece of chromed steel tubing which is bent and curved to create its cantilevered frame. The seats and backrests are professionally upholstered in a warm tan colored leatherette. This is one of the seldom cases in which the luxurious comfort of an upholstered chair has been successfully united with a tubular steel construction. Their superior style complements classic, traditional, mid-century modern, modern, and chic design. A must have for interior lovers with a heart for Italian design!
Vecta Contract Inc. founded in 1959 Grand Prairie, TX. It is a result of Brunswick Corporation divesting its School Division and Burk-Action Division. Vecta focuses on architectural furnishings (e.g. lobbies, lounges, conference rooms for universities, hospitals, and other public buildings). Collaborated with noted designers like John Mascheroni, Duncan Burke, Hugh Acton and Gunter Eberle to name a few. The Company was acquired by Steelcase Inc. in 1978.
