Fine original condition, this is a scarce walnut slipper chair with original cane back. Model no. 650 designed by John Lubberts & Lambert Mulder for Tomlinson Furniture Company, circa 1950s. Part of the 'Sophisticate' line, United States Design Patent #181, 260 October 22, 1957 Tomlinson of High Point Inc. The chair serve as a testament to the designers' superb discernment in creating aesthetically pleasing forms and harmonic compositions. The design seamlessly merges artistic sensibility with functional purpose. The backrest with its subtle curves, showcases a remarkable interplay of materials, with one portion featuring meticulous craftsmanship in cane weaving. The rear legs, gracefully tapered, contribute to the chairs' overall elegance. Freshly redone by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier.
