Monumental Continental Horse Sculpture
DESCRIPTION
Very impressive plaster reproduction of a classical Trojan horse artifact housed in the British Museum in London. Most likely executed in the early 20th century by a gipsoteca (plaster cast workshop) in Italy, this plaster faithfully reproduces the horse in an ancient sculpture depicting Alexander the Great in battle. Beautifully realized, the piece is quite heavy and shows appropriate signs of age and wear with surface patina. It is quite rare to find a piece of this size in such good condition.
