Neoclassical Bronze Gueridon by Maison Jansen, France

  • DESCRIPTION

Extremely detailed and well proportioned gueridon, occasional or side table by Maison Jansen, France in the 1960s. Featuring a round shaped glass top sitting on top of a patinated bronze structure. The table is raised on triple-splayed legs each topped with graceful swan heads in brass. A lower brass tier adorned with brass finials of smaller proportions visually connects the legs to one another, only to resume journey downwards to rest on a carved tripartite stretcher and terminating on three paw feet. The black hue of the metal structure is delicately accented with discreet gilded accents, contrasting beautifully with one another. Though displaying the elegance and curves of typical french Neoclassical style, this is a unique creation. Not only does this table make a statement, the table steals the show -- absolutely gorgeous!
