Pair of American Black Lacquer and Brass Regency Cabinets, 1960's
DESCRIPTION
Fine pair of 1960's black lacquered cabinets with a design influenced by the work of the illustrious American designer James Mont. Mont was renowned for assimilating elements of classical, orientalist, and Art Deco design into a modern sensibility - a style he termed "Chinese Modern." Each cabinet boasts bifold doors opening to interior storage space, resting on a rectilinear base with tapered chow legs. Contrasting the black lacquered surface are uniquely shaped original brass pulls.
