Pair of Jay Spectre "Wallis Simpson" Armchairs

Pair of rare "Wallis Simpson" chairs from the "Special Effects" line by Jay Spectre. With its clean lines and mid-century style, these armchairs complement almost any aesthetic. Each chair features a lacquered wood structure beautifully contrasted by a luxurious cream colored velvet upholstery. Its distinctive barrel silhouette is topped with a pierced rail echoed on the arms for an airy, approachable touch, a removable seat cushion, on four saber legs. Ground up restoration includes regluing, refinishing, and fresh upholstery. Architectural lines, exaggerated details and unexpected touches draw the eye.

 

Spectre was named one of the top eight Designers of America by the Smithsonian Institution as part of their “Giants of Design 1979” exhibition and then named to the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1986.
