The definition of minimalism in a singular design, achieved by the great Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929; the Brno chair is just that, world renowned for its modern architectural form and cantilevered design. The 'Brno' armchair model no. 245 features a cantilever frame formed from a single piece of polished chrome-plated tubular steel which demonstrate exceptional quality and freshly reupholstered in a gorgeous shade of teal, a stunning combination. Designed in 1930 for the Tugendhat house in Brno, Czechoslovakia, the Brno chair mirrors the ground breaking simplicity of its original environment. A simple profile, clean lines and meticulous attention to detail have elevated the Brno chair to an icon of twentieth century furniture design.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe born in Germany is regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of architecture. His ‘less-is-more’ approach to design was the gold standard for many generations of modern architecture. His legendary career started humbly at his father’s stonemasonry business, giving him an early appreciation of material and structure. From there he apprenticed with furniture designer Bruno Paul in Berlin before joining the office of Peter Behrens, an architect and painter at the forefront of the modern movement.
