Broyhill Brasilia furniture debuted at the Seattle World's Fair in 1962. The signature lines and waves of Brasilia furniture were inspired by the distinct architecture of the city of Brasilia (capital of Brazil). This firm's designers worked for two years with Oscar Niemeyer, the architect for the building in Brasilia. But credit must also be given to the Broyhill designers who translated that building design into such a beautiful line of furniture. The result, presented with Niemeyer's official recognition, is the first copyrighted furniture design group to appear in years.
